The official numbers across our nation showed a slack in retail sales this Black Friday but thanks to the internet and brand new high end android and iphones online and mobile sales were up and this data was reflected by our numbers too. We hope the promising news will hold out through the New Year. Here’s to a Happy Holiday Season!

Been so long!   Leave a comment

It’s been quite some time since our last entry hasn’t it? Well, now’s as good a time as any to let our fans and friends on WordPress know what’s been going on here at Alūr Jewelry, Inc!

Since wow last September we’ve exhibited again in a few shows and again this September at the now named NYC Wholesale Expo presented by ASD. Check out our latest booth setup!

This last show was very fun. We had three booths this time instead of the two from last time and not only did we get an additional corner for the booth but both we and our neighbor didn’t take up too much of the joining side so it left us both with a makeshift second corner. All that and the fact that the showroom floor was more open and vacant this year made it so much easier for our customers to get around and see everything.

1

Despite the show being a more dedicated wholesale exhibition than its predecessor the Value + Variety Show our customers still enjoyed and frequented our Cash and Carry table and I don’t want to speak for any of them but the smiles I saw speak for themselves wouldn’t you say?

2

Currently the staff are all busy packing all the orders we received both in and out of the show. If you’re one of them and haven’t received it yet don’t worry it’s on its way!

Beyond the show Alūr Jewelry has finally gotten our website up and running! However just another reminder to gain full access to the website including the online storefront, you’ll need an approved account with us. How do you get one of those? Well the website is dedicated to our customers and our customer base which means retailers, distributors and any other form of business along those lines. Therefore you’ll need to fit into one of those categories and to insure our site members are as such we ask that you create an account first with a valid company e-mail address. After you’ve created the account, use the same e-mail address to send us your company’s information. That’s AlurJewelry@gmail.com. We’ll need your basic company info (name of the company, address, a contact that will be using the account, and the contact’s phone number for direct inqueries) and company credentials though we’re more lenient on the latter. For our fans who aren’t business owners or buyers for a business please continue to visit our Facebook page which has restored its retail storefront after Payvment closed its doors. We now run our retail storefront with the power of Highwire so be sure to give it a good look. As always we’ll be happy to help you phone or e-mail Monday thru Friday 9:00AM – 5:00PM!

I think that gets the gist of the new stuff out of the way. Hopefully our next entry won’t take so long! Until then we here at Alūr Jewelry just want to say one more thank you to everybody who have followed us since we first appeared on WordPress! Love you guys and God bless!

Whew, after being swamped by all the orders, there’s finally some time to show everyone some pictures of how it went! Though the show was only three days long, we were all calling it by the last day. All of our guests kept us on our toes, filling out orders, promoting the collections, and so on and so forth. There was never a dull moment!

The papers flew and it was wild back there behind the table. It was a strange sight not having clipboards and forms on the chairs or keeping an organized workspace. Good thing there was such a hustle for seeing our styles, the chairs never saw much action anyway.

All of our guests were anxious to see more and talk quantities. Nothing on our displays stayed untouched for long. If it wasn’t piling up in one place for an order, it was being tried on. If it wasn’t being tried on, it was being looked over and talked about. The days usually started with a neat and elegant booth. The same couldn’t be said by 5:30.

As with the last Fall Show run by ASD, this show featured some Cash and Carry selling and we had our hands full. Several of our older samples sold out as did what remained of our discontinued product lines. The left over stock was kept under the table and that meant the skirt could barely be kept down. Time after time we found ourselves going back to add more to the table for our customers to see. There were even a few trips made back to our office to bring more supplies.

Suffice it to say we were happy with the show and the many orders that followed that’s kept this entry from being made for so long. Many thanks to our new customers and the continuing support of our returning customers. We hope the items you purchased will do well in the upcoming holiday season and we look forward to your reorders once its over!

This past show couldn’t have been a success without the uncanny support from all of our customers new and old. We’ve never written orders as big as some of the ones we had here and we’re grateful for all of them.

The shots of our booth above were taken before opening hours so you all could get a good look at it. It would be impossible to take these clear shots during the show with the droves in attendance. I wanted to show you the booth as a point of comparison with our first booth from last year. Your voices were heard and we’ve been doing our best to expand to a comfortable size for all of you. That’s why I’m happy to report there was no stumbling over each other this time around and the aisles were just the right size. We’ve also made sure to maintain a higher quantity of our products despite having just come from IFJAG a month before. Rest assured to anyone that placed an order, we guarantee we have your items in stock.

However, the biggest takeaway here is all of your wonderful comments about our products, especially our new Spring Collection. It is an honor have our crystal line be compared on the same level as Swarovski’s. It lets us know just how much you believe in our quality and, though they definitely can’t hold a candle to Swarovski’s impressive brand yet, we take your comments to heart and will continue to provide the same quality while striving to become even better in the future until maybe one day we really can hold our standards to Swarovski’s own.

Thank you all for coming, for stopping by after the show, and for calling in! See you next time!

Getting Into The Holiday Season   Leave a comment

This season, like many in recent years has been tough. The economic slump has everyone grabbing tightly at their pursestraps. Not only that, but it seems lots of companies are feeling the impact. Several stories in the news these days are about closings or bankruptcy. Even the ones that are hanging in there are facing hard times what with the prices hikes, budjet deficits, and slacking of services.

ImageImage

However, that’s not every company. Cell phone makers are hitting it bigger and bigger each year with the new technology rolling out. Before the recession, our phones could take pictures, video, text with picture and video, and play limited java games. These days with 4G internet, phones can send movies, video chat instead of just text, and play games that are on the level of handheld consoles. That expanded into tablets like the iPad which is the newest trend, taking the place of laptops and portable media devices. Aside that, internet companies have also expanded. Zynga games, if anyone is following just went public. Zynga games develops flash games for social websites like facebook, which also went public a while ago.

So my question is, what do you think means the difference between folding and holding on? For us here at Alūr, its the innovating new styles that leads to appreciation by customers, which follows into sales and that greases the wheels to keep the whole machine running. But is that all? What do you think?

Did a tornado blow through?   Leave a comment

Wow was a choice word at our last ASD Show at the local Jacob Javits Center. Customers came in by the droves and we found ourselves with ever decreasing supplies as the orders filled up. We really couldn’t have hoped for a better turnout.

Now comes time to take stock and get all these orders out to everybody. It’s been a long process, but all the readied packages are getting out there and the rest of them are getting tallied up and sent out with our Purchasing Department this month.

As thanks for all the support, our online store on Facebook is offering a 40% discount to fans all month long and featuring one of the most popular items we had this show.

Thank you all so much from all of us at Alur Jewelry, Inc. We hope to see you again in Las Vegas!

A Thanks to all Who Showed Their Support at ASD|LV!   Leave a comment

The show kicked off for the exhibitors early friday morning with all of us getting on our flights to head over to the Las Vegas Convention Center. For us, this journey actually started Thursday evening after closing the office for the night. Final preparations for the show and the subsequent week our office would be understaffed took place that night, but it was mostly in order. We actually had a new shipment en route to New York shores as the show got under way and sales personnel wanted a last minute inventory update to ensure we had our newest products out on the floor for all our clients.

The flight itself wasn’t very crowded, as it was well after midnight and most were probably still back in their beds. A light rain fell as we arrived at the airport with news reports warning that a storm was on its way. However we were in luck as that storm happened over the weekend and our plane took off without delay.

Our modest booth would not have made the splash it did without all your support.

When we arrived, some of the exhibitors closer to the site had already come and were busy setting up shop. There were some mammoth booths around. Some of the spaces were hardly distinguishable from stores you’d find at the mall! There was heavy construction of sturdy walls and windows, even complex sound and video systems. One of my personal favorites was a black and violet themed booth that featured three monitors each running commercials of the product line. For our booth, we only bolstered a few stackable displays and easy lighting, but you wouldn’t believe how long it took just to erect that!

It all started from the base. We were given three beams and a rear drape that held our company’s sign and booth number. We still had a table and chairs to expect, which wouldn’t show up until a few hours later and a good thing too because it took us a great deal of time and alot of space on the empty floor to get everything all set. Our original design for the area wasn’t quite suited for it so we had to make a few last minute adjustments, but the final product turned out ok, wouldn’t you say?

Then it was all on you guys. The show itself started on Sunday, July 31st. Though the mornings were quiet, it gave us exhibitors time to bond and talk about our different businesses. Across the aisle from us was a custom belt company that was promoting new Transformers and Green Lantern belt buckles. The company to our left was a Korean scarf manufacterer and opposite them, another Korean company in fashion. The first customers came from the more center aisle with buyers visiting both the belt company and our booth. Soon after the Korean companies were showing signs of life and it didn’t stop until August 3rd with a blowout sample sale that saw our tiny little booth swarmed by heaping masses trying to get their final dollars in to buy our latest hits.

And so, with most of our show allotted inventory taken and some of our display samples as well we began to pack it in. It was a wonderful week and we met lots of new faces and greeted some of our regulars. The show started strong with your hefty orders and willingness to try our latest designs. It ended with a frenzy to grab the rest of those items before they were gone. We had a blast showcasing our line for everybody and loved all the compliments we received about them. Now all that’s left to say is we hope the items you’ve purchased will sell as quickly for you as they went for us and we look forward to hearing from you again with your reorders!

Til then! Thanks from all of us at Alūr Jewelry, Inc.

Photographing Jewelry Using The iPhone 4   2 comments

This is something that caught my eye when I was surfing through some articles. You can take stunning and very professional photographs of jewelry using the iPhone 4. With its vast array of apps and a really cute tripod, the iPhone 4 can produce some very stunning shots.

Original Article: http://www.tuaw.com/2011/07/12/how-to-photograph-jewelry-with-an-iphone-4/

Technology these days is simply marvelous. The iPhone 4 features a 5 megapixel camera with flash. With the right app, the photos taken can result in very fine work. I was wondering then about other cell phone cameras. There are many on the market now that have more megapixels or have two LED flashes. There are also apps on the android market that may produce similar or greater results.

What cameras and photo enhancing software do you use when taking images? What can rival the iPhone 4’s results as illustrated in the article above?

Artist Jackie Kaufman’s thought up a new way for pet lovers to accessorize. Using a silicon mold she creates keychains out of the noses of our fuzzy playmates. This is a fun way to show your adoration of them and its also a cute piece to have. No pets are harmed in the process of making these accessories and some have fun during the process as well.

Would you get one of your pet’s nose? What’s your take on this innovative fashion?
